The IAYP (International Award for Young People) actually originated in the United Kingdom in 1956. It was originally titled as the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme aka DEAS. The purpose of the award is to help and encourage the young people in achieving their full potential within the framework of Indian Society. It also aims to enhance their moral, social and intellectual well-being and promote leadership qualities in them.
With the help of voluntary self-development activities, IAYP helps young people in passing through the bridge of adolescence to adulthood with ease. The award is categorized into three categories – Bronze, Silver and Gold. At Sangam School of Excellence, we encourage our students to undertake all the three categories. The basic structure of the Award comprises of 4 obligatory sections- Service, Adventurous Journey, Skills, and Physical Recreation. It is mandatory for the participants to complete all the four sections to receive an award.
